Behind the scene
Bergman Design studio was founded by an interior architect Karen Bergman Wennesland in Tallinn, Estonia, 2017. Karen was born in Estonia, but most of her adulthood she lived, studied and worked in the eclectic city of London. After graduating as an Interior Architect at the University of Westminster in 2013, she gained her first valuable design experience working for an award winning architectural firm in London, Islington. After 17 years of adventurous life abroad, Karen finally decided to return back to her motherland and soon after founded her studio Bergman Design.
From the onset, Karen has a great interest in interior and spatial design with mostly residential projects. In the recent years, she has also been involved in project management roles overseeing the whole project from start to finish, coordinating closely with suppliers, contractors and vendors.
Subtle transitions between architecture, interior design and styling combined with bold mid-century modern design and eclectic glam is something that often describes Karen’s essence. Prime design components of her work are sustainability, functionality, durability and comfort, where use of pure and tactile materials results in a clear and timeless design. Her style doesn’t follow along with the typical trends, instead she creates unique eclectic urban luxe interiors with elements of Scandinavian vintage and carefully chosen modern pieces.
